The 30s – Architecture and power: The creations of consensus
At the end of May we had the pleasure of sponsoring one of the events organised by the Architects Registration Board of Milan called “100 Years of Architecture 1923-2023“, which takes place from May until autumn this year.
This is the event dedicated to the ’30s, “Architecture and power: the creation of consensus”.
The two initiatives dedicated to the ’30s (1933-1943) were a conference and an itinerary of architecture, a decade that saw the scientific curatorship of Fulvio Irace, architectural historian and professor emeritus at Polytechnic of Milan, in collaboration with Marialisa Santi, president of the Foundation of the Order of Architects PPC of the Province of Milan.
It was a beautiful “Architecture Walk”, an itinerary that allowed us to admire and explore symbolic locations, which have made marble an integral part of the urban landscape of the city. A unique material, companion and tool of great architects.
An afternoon gone in an instant, between Università Cattolica by Giovanni Muzio, Piazza Affari and Palazzo della Borsa by Giovanni Mezzanotte, the Palace of Justice by Marcello Piacentini and the stage between Turati and Piazza Repubblica, with the works of Giovanni Muzio, Gio Ponti, Asnago & Vender, BBPR and the final one with Angelicum and the residential buildings in via Sandri by Giovanni Muzio.
Final aperitif at the Metroquality showroom.
See you at the next event and a big thank you to OAMi!
